At AKF Martial Arts Academy of Eau Claire, we don’t just train punches and kicks — we train character. And one of the most critical traits we build in our students is trustworthiness.
Trustworthy leaders don’t need reminders. They don’t need someone checking in. They show up, follow through, and do the right thing — even when no one’s watching.
If you’re a parent looking for a program that teaches real-world responsibility…
If you’re a student who wants to be known as someone others can count on…
Or if you’re simply exploring what makes AKF different…
Start here.
6 Leadership Habits of Trustworthiness
These are the habits we build in class, at home, and everywhere in between:
- Be Reliable – Do what you say you will do. Every time.
- Be Consistent – Let your effort and attitude match on your best and worst days.
- Respect Privacy – If someone trusts you with something private, protect it.
- Fix Your Mistakes – We all mess up. Leaders own it, learn, and move forward.
- Be Prepared – Show up on time, in uniform, ready to focus.
- Make Good Choices When No One’s Watching – Character is who you are when no one is around.
These habits aren’t just encouraged — they’re expected. Because being trustworthy doesn’t start with titles or age. It starts with choices.
Weekly Leadership Mission
Leadership isn’t built in theory. It’s built through action. Here’s your challenge:
- Practice trustworthiness — at home, at school, or in the community.
- Train your martial arts outside the dojang — in your backyard, basement, or wherever focus lives.
- Capture your mission — Take a photo or video of yourself training or demonstrating leadership.
- Post it in the AKF Eau Claire Community Group and tag AKF Eau Claire or Master Gustavson.
This mission is for our students, yes — but if you’re visiting and wondering what kind of kids come out of AKF, this is your answer. We don’t just train students. We train self-accountable, high-character leaders.
Journaling Prompt
We ask our students to reflect on this every week. Try it yourself — or ask your child over dinner tonight:
How can I be trustworthy…
At Home: ___________________________________
At School: __________________________________
At the Academy: _____________________________
Trust begins with one choice. The choice to do what’s right — the first time.
Whether you’re part of the AKF family or just discovering us, know this:
We don’t just teach martial arts.
We teach people how to lead.
If you’re ready to see your child grow stronger in every area of life — start with a trial.
Your next leader might just be standing on our mat.
PIL SUNG.
